MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH LIGHT RAIN & WIND TODAY

HAPPY SATURDAY!
We have an upper level wave moving in over the next 24 hours. This will bring the clouds and some light rain. I wouldn’t cancel any outdoor plans today, but just know you may get wet from time to time. And remember, you can always track it with the eastTNweather app and the interactive radar. It gives you past, current and future radar of two hours, helping you to plan.
We start the day off mild and cloudy. Morning temperatures have been hovering in the 50s and 60s. Lunch time temps will climb to the 60s and 70s with afternoon highs in the 70s.
The wind will pick up through the day out of the southwest 5-15 mph, gusting to 25 mph.
Temperatures stay nice and mild into the evening.
Enjoy the day!

NOW LET’S DIVE INTO THE SEVERE RISK LATE SUNDAY INTO MONDAY

Here we go again!

A strong cold front will swing out of the Great Plains. This will produce another round of severe weather across the country. For us in East Tennessee including Chattanooga, Knoxville, Tri-Cities and Crossville, we are under a level 1 & 2 risk. The greatest threat are damaing winds, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out along with 1″ hail and locally heavy rain leading to isolated flooding issues.
Timing
Per the latest model guidance, it looks like the risk increases after sunset on Sunday, but more likely through the overnight hours into the morning rush hour on Monday. There is a chance for isolated strong to severe storms on Monday afternoon as well.
