Happy Saturday, everybody! Hope your weekend is off to a great start. We’ve got a storm system heading our way that will bring increasing clouds today, a few light rain showers late tonight, and scattered showers continuing into Sunday. Nothing too heavy — just a weak upper-level low sliding in from the north and northwest, helping to stir up a few waves of moisture.

This morning starts chilly with temperatures in the 30s and some areas of frost, but sunshine dominates early on. As the day goes on, those mid to high-level clouds will begin to increase. You’ll notice jet contrails building in the sky by lunchtime, and between noon and 3 p.m., the clouds will thicken even more.
Most of the day will stay dry, and even through this evening, rain chances remain low. If you’re heading to Neyland Stadium for tonight’s Tennessee–Oklahoma matchup, you’re in luck — it looks mainly dry for the game. A few sprinkles can’t be ruled out late in the evening, but overall, it should be pleasant football weather.
Kickoff temperature will be near 59°, dipping into the mid-50s by the end of the game. Light winds and mostly cloudy skies will make it feel like a true fall evening.
Overnight, rain showers will start to increase as the low-pressure system gets closer. Scattered, light rain continues through Sunday, mainly across the Plateau and into the southern valley. Rainfall totals by Sunday evening will stay modest — around a quarter of an inch or less for most areas, with a few isolated spots picking up slightly more.
Temperatures this afternoon will top out near 60°, with highs in the upper 50s and low 60s again Sunday. Both days will be a few degrees below average for early November, when highs typically sit around 66°.
Looking ahead:
-
Saturday: Increasing clouds, light rain possible late, highs near 60°.
-
Sunday: Scattered showers, highs in the upper 50s.
-
Monday–Friday: Dry and warmer with sunshine returning; highs climbing into the upper 60s to low 70s by midweek.
-
Next weekend: Another system could bring rain by Saturday or Sunday.
So, a few sprinkles tonight, a damp Sunday, and then a stretch of sunshine and warmer temps ahead.
Have a great Saturday — and don’t forget to tune in tonight at 6 o’clock for the latest update or check out Witcher’s One Minute Weather anytime on the East Tennessee Weather App.
