Good morning, East Tennessee!
As your local meteorologist, I’m rolling out the latest weather update for Thursday, July 10, 2025.
It’s Friday-eve—doesn’t that have a nice little ring to it? Hope you’ve got a fantastic day ahead! We’re starting off with some patchy dense fog thanks to the clearing overnight and that much-needed rain hitting parts of our area. This easy-to-grab blog breaks it down day by day for Knoxville, Chattanooga, and the Great Smoky Mountains, so let’s dive in and make the most of it!

Thursday: Mild and Muggy with a Typical July Feel
We’re kicking off today with morning temps in the 70s, giving us a mild yet muggy start—thanks to that fog and recent rain. It’s shaping up to be a solid average July day. By lunchtime, we’ll hit the low to mid-80s, with afternoon highs climbing to the upper 80s. The typical high for this time of year is 89°F, and that holds steady all the way through July 22nd before easing a bit as we slide toward fall. Fun fact: we stay at 88°F through August 23rd, then drop a little faster after that. Enjoy the warmth today—it’s classic summer!

Friday: More of the Same with Afternoon Storms
Friday, July 11, keeps the pattern rolling. We’ll see those diurnal thunderstorms pop up in the afternoon, with highs landing in the upper 80s to low 90s. It’s another muggy day, so plan your outdoor fun around those storms. The heat will feel familiar, but the rain adds a twist—stay ready!

Saturday: Summertime Storms Stick Around
Saturday, July 12, follows suit with more of those summertime afternoon storms. Highs will hover in the upper 80s to low 90s, keeping that July vibe going. Expect some isolated downpours, but it won’t hit everyone. Use the day wisely and track the weather!

Sunday: Warm with Some Storms
Sunday, July 13, wraps the weekend with those same afternoon storms. Highs will stay in the upper 80s to low 90s, and the muggy air will linger. It’s a wet end to the weekend, so keep an eye on the sky and adjust your plans.

Monday: Better Rain Coverage Next Week
Looking ahead to Monday, July 14, another trough swings through, bringing better coverage of showers and storms. We’ll still see highs in the upper 80s to low 90s, but the rain will spread out more—great news for our dry spots. I’ll keep you posted as it gets closer!

ABOVE AND BEYOND THE 7 DAY FORECAST

Looking past the 7 Day Forecast, the Climate Prediction Center has issues a forecast based on probabilities.
These maps don’t show you how far above or below, but rather an idea of how strong the signal is.

Why This Weather Matters
That fog today comes from last night’s clear-out and rain, setting up a muggy but average July feel. The weekend storms are typical summer action, and Monday’s trough promises more wet stuff. For Knoxville locals, Chattanooga outdoor fans, and Smoky Mountain visitors, this helps you plan and stay safe.
