TROPICAL NEWS

Conditions have really ramped up in the Gulf of Mexico.
We are now tracking Tropical Storm Milton, but it could become a major, category 3 hurricane before making landfall on the western side of Florida.
We have a lot of fall break vacationers from East Tennessee in Florida, and I want everyone to know what is coming their way.
I will post a lot more on social media. Please be sure to like and follow @MikeWitcherTV on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Along with @ETNweather on Facebook.

TODAY’S FORECAST

Today is going to be to be a fantastic, warm fall day. A ridge of high pressure is dominating the weather pattern. However, a cold front and trough swing in late tonight and early Monday. It’s a moisture starved cold front, so don’t expect much in the way of rainfall. Maybe a stray shower in Upper East Tennessee. But that should be about it.
What this cold front will do is bring us some amazing weather next week. More on that below.

THE REST OF THE STORY

As I mentioned above, the rest of the story is going to be amazing.
A cool and dry ridge of high pressure builds in behind tonight’s cold front. That will finally bring us the fall weather we’ve all been longing for.
The dew points fall into the 40s & 50s for most locations all next week. That dry air will allow it to feel great during the afternoon hours. But it will also allow our morning low temperatures to dip to the 40s for most of the week.
It’s not just the lower humidity that will make it feel great. It’s also the cooler, Canadian air to settle on in. That means our high temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s.
Like I told you, amazing fall weather arrives starting Monday.
These are the perfect fall days to explore the outdoors and enjoy a nice, cool evening around the outdoor fire pit.

A LOOK AHEAD

We are in for a nice dry weather pattern this week. But, per the Climate Prediction Center, we are going to be on the drier side through the middle of the month. Which, of course, is par for the course for the month of October.

A LOOK BACK

It’s amazing how fast a drought can disapprear, but it’s also amazing what Mother Nature can do to get there.
We continue to have a moderate drought in the southern valley, as expected. The just didn’t get the rain that Upper East Tennessee received. With October being the driest month of the year, this drought will likely expand over the next few weeks. Check back in.
