Happy Sunday, East Tennessee!
Good morning, friends. I sure hope you’re having a great Sunday so far. We’ve got some good news in the weather department, thanks to high pressure settling in behind yesterday’s cold front, plenty of sunshine is on the way.
Today’s Sponsor Spotlight
Before we dive in, a quick shoutout to today’s sponsor: Maryville’s top mortgage team—Volunteer Home Mortgage. Jerry and her crew are available seven days a week to help you out. You can find them online at volunteerhomemortgage.com or give them a call at 865-238-7500.
Sunday Weather Setup
That cold front we tracked yesterday brought in some much-needed rain—even if it wasn’t the best timing for football Saturday. Now, a trough of low pressure aloft is keeping our temperatures on the cooler side, while surface high pressure begins to build in from the west.
We do have a few leftover morning clouds and some patchy fog, but no major travel issues are expected. Once that burns off, it’s wall-to-wall sunshine the rest of the day. Dew points are down in the 50s this morning, so the air is crisp and fall-like—perfect for spending time outdoors.

Futurecast
Not much to track on radar today—just clearing skies and abundant sunshine. Highs this afternoon will top out in the 70s, a little below average for early September. If you’re grilling out or relaxing tonight, temps slide back into the low 70s by around 10 PM.
The Week Ahead
As high pressure strengthens and shifts eastward through the week, our dew points and morning lows will gradually climb. Afternoon highs will also trend closer to seasonal averages. But overall, this is a beautiful stretch of weather—dry, sunny, and quiet for the next seven days.
